In this program we will discuss:
- How businesses are valued.
- Why businesses are valued that way.
- Rules of thumb.
- The types of buyers that are out there.
- Why goodwill is important.
The only way the actual value of your business
can be determined.
Businesses cannot be valued on the back of a napkin,
or on a single spreadsheet. It requires a much
broader perspective. Understanding the principles
will help you manage your business better and manage
your financial future with greater certainty. John
McGovern, CPA, ABV, CVA, Partner at Rodman & Rodman,
P.C. performs business valuations for small and
medium-sized businesses. He will provide attendees a
good understanding of the basics of business
valuation. He will also answer questions that
business owners may have about valuation principles
specific to their industry or their unique
situation. If you are looking to sell, transfer
ownership or restructure, this is a presentation you
should not miss! .

Over the last decade, QuickBooks has emerged as
the dominant small business accounting software.
QuickBooks has evolved into a software with features
that not only get the "bookkeeping" of your business
done, but also has features, tools and reporting
that can help you run your business more efficiently
and profitably. The problem is knowing how to
access that information and use it. Kathy Parker,
Partner at Rodman & Rodman, P.C. and a Certified
QuickBooks Advanced Pro Advisor has been advising
clients on getting the most out of their QuickBooks
for nearly a decade. She will bring her experience
with QuickBooks and her knowledge as a CPA to this
presentation. Time will be allowed for your
QuickBooks questions.

One of the most interesting developments on the
web over these past few years has been the emergence
of "social networking" websites. Facebook,
Twitter, MySpace and others have exploded onto the
scene with great acceptance. Some entrepreneurs have
recently found a way to use these websites to help
effect business growth. Knowing how to leverage
these opportunities is the trick. Todd
Norwood, Vice President of Technology for The
Norwood Group has been educating business owners on
using social networking as a business asset. A
powerful and flexible business asset. This seminar
is designed for beginners to the social networking
world. Bring an open mind and learn how these new
web opportunities can help you and your business.
